Course Description:
English Teaching Methodology is an optional course for Senior English students. Its objective is cultivate students’ professional competence of language instruction through designing activities across various levels of English teaching programs. By implementing classroom teaching methods, students should develop an understanding of basic principles of ELT, important factors of language instruction, and an awareness of the New National Curriculum Standard of English Teaching in China, in turn establishing a communicative perspective of language education and teaching. Through participating in practical teaching practice and applicable classroom observation, students will develop their reflective capacity and build relevant communicative skills in language instruction as guided by the New Curriculum Standard, which will form a solid foundation for their possible teaching career.
